The image conscious world of fashion and the movies has led to the popularising of botox treatments and the relatively low cost of such a treatment and the fact that the procedure is non surgical, meaning you can be in and out of an appointment within a couple of hours, has led to an explosion of ordinary people following the path already trail blazed by the Hollywood elite.

The problem with such a procedure becoming so popular and so generally accepted within the rest of the population is that people start to treat such a procedure with a blasé attitude, without fully understanding the consequences.

Botox, whilst being a relatively simple procedure in the hands of an expert, still involves injecting a substance into your face that freezes the muscles in order to achieve the desired effects. Done correctly there is very little chance of a complication (and even if there is it can be resolved by a suitably qualified individual), but carried out by someone without the correct training it can have disastrous effects with, in severe cases creating permanent drooping to either side of the face, which can effect the muscles in the eye or eyelids, potentially causing sight problems and giving the impression of a stroke.

In extreme cases an incorrectly applied injection can also be fatal as it can affect the throat muscles and interfere with the ability to swallow or breathe.

You wouldn’t allow an unqualified friend to inject you with anaesthetic in your gums before doing some free dental work so why would you let a similarly unqualified person inject botox into your face?

To get more info’ on the dangers of botox simply search on google for botox glasgow
