<ol>
<li>A diamond is forever. A diamond will only be forever if you take care of it. If you don&#8217;t, a diamond can chip, fracture, or break. Even a diamond should come with a care instruction tag. </li>
<li>A diamond is the toughest thing in the world. People confuse hardness with toughness. A diamond is the hardest thing in the world, but it is not the toughest. Toughness refers to a diamond&#8217;s resistance to breakage. There are other gemstones that are tougher than a diamond.
</li>
<li>Diamonds are very rare. Nope! There is more of a man-made shortage than a natural shortage. The distribution of the number of diamonds put on the market each year is highly regulated. There are really enough diamonds to give each man, woman, and child in the United States a whole cupful.
</li>
<li>A cubic zirconia is a man-made diamond. Zirconia is a diamond simulant, meaning it is something that looks similar to a diamond. That&#8217;s all. A cubic zirconia does not have any of the same properties as a diamond.
</li>
<li>Women are more size conscious than quality conscious. This one is almost true but not quite. Even though most women believe that bigger is better, there are still quite a few women out there that will sacrifice size to get a better quality diamond.
</li>
<li>A diamond is the most expensive gemstone. The truth is there are quite a few more expensive gemstones on the market. For example, a top quality ruby can be worth over thirty thousand dollars a carat.
</li>
<li>A fancy shaped diamond is more expensive than a round diamond. A round diamond is generally more expensive than any other shape because of the law of supply and demand. Sixty-five percent of all people buy a round diamond. Since more people want a round, that makes it a little more expensive. But mostly on a stone per stone basis all shapes of diamonds are around the same price. (In some cases a marquise shaped diamond may cost 5 to 10 percent more than a round.)
</li>
<li>A large diamond is always worth more than a small diamond. Size is only one criterion by which a diamond can be judged. A small high-clarity, high-color diamond can cost more than a large low-clarity, low-color diamond.
</li>
<li>After a diamond has been cut, little diamonds can be cut from the shavings. Usually there are no shavings, only dust. Most diamonds are ground down and there aren&#8217;t any little pieces left over to cut anything else. Most people believe a diamond is whittled, not ground down. This is another myth.
</li>
<li>A fancy shaped diamond is more difficult to cut than a round diamond. All diamonds to a certain degree are difficult to cut, and some very large diamonds take more time and effort to cut than do smaller diamonds. But one diamond is not harder to cut than another just because of the shape.
</li>
<li>Yellow diamonds are worthless. Even though yellow diamonds are more abundant than their white counterparts, they still have a value. All diamonds do. If a diamond has so much nitrogen in it that it is very bright yellow, it can be worth quite a bit. These bright yellow diamonds are called Canary diamonds. Canary diamonds are more valuable than light yellow diamonds.
</li>
<li>Diamonds are a good investment. Webster&#8217;s dictionary defines investment as &#8220;an outlay of money for income or profit.&#8221; Since most people purchase diamonds to be worn and not to be resold, diamonds are not a good investment. Only through proper education and training could diamonds become a good investment. For the average Joe, I would say buy a diamond for the enjoyment and prestige it brings and don&#8217;t be too concerned about making a buck.
</li>
<li>A diamond should be bought strictly on its visual appearance: &#8220;if it looks good, buy it.&#8221; A lot of people believe &#8220;what I can&#8217;t see can&#8217;t hurt me!&#8221; Well, we all know that blind ignorance will only lead to disaster. Practically any diamond looks good in a jewelry store. The jeweler spends quite a bit on spotlights to make any quality diamond sparkle. But unless you plan on carrying a spotlight with you everywhere you go, you&#8217;d better check the four C&#8217;s or you might purchase a diamond that only looks good in a jewelry store and is lifeless everywhere else.
</li>
<li>An emerald cut diamond is the most expensive shape diamond. I don&#8217;t know why some people believe this. I constantly have clients tell me that they like emerald cut diamonds but know that they are the most expensive and they can&#8217;t afford them. This is crazy! The emerald cut diamond is the least expensive of all the shapes. You see, it is the shape that is most like the natural shape of the rough. So there is a little bit less waste during the cutting process. If you like emerald cut diamonds, enjoy them, don’t avoid them; they are not any more expensive.
</li>
<li>Diamonds are a bad investment. Diamonds may not be a good investment for the average person, but they certainly aren&#8217;t a bad investment. If a diamond is purchased at the right price, it will most certainly hold its value. Since the diamond crash of 1979, when A-D flawless diamonds fell in value from seventy-five thousand dollars to under fifteen thousand dollars, the price of diamonds has been increasing constantly since then.
</li>
<li>No diamond is perfect. The definition of a perfect diamond would be a diamond free from inclusions and blemishes when viewed under lOX (flawless), with no trace of color (D-Color), and perfectly proportioned. Even though they are rare, there are such diamonds around.
</li>
<li>It is difficult to tell the difference between a diamond and a cubic zirconia. Any good jeweler can tell the difference immediately. A cubic zirconia in my opinion has more of a plastic look. There seems to be a light blue cast throughout the entire stone. One sure way to determine the difference is by weighing the cubic zirconia. A cubic zirconia will weigh 75 percent more!
</li>
<li>Only a real diamond will cut glass. A diamond will cut glass; so will a lot of fakes. This is not a good test to use to check out a diamond for authenticity. Never take your diamond and do this, because the diamond can be injured during the process.
</li>
<li>Diamonds are expensive. Some are; some aren&#8217;t. It depends on their quality. Believe it or not, it&#8217;s possible to get a one carat diamond for as low as three hundred dollars if it&#8217;s junky enough.
</li>
<li>Diamonds are a girl&#8217;s best friend. This one would have stumped me, too. I&#8217;ve always believed that all women like diamonds. It wasn&#8217;t till recently that I learned there are some women out there that very much dislike diamonds and think they are a waste of money. I guess for them maybe a dog is their best friend. </li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img style="float: left; margin-right: 30px; border: #ABCDEF 5px double" src="/downloads/2008/09/house7.png" alt="" /> Why would someone want to sell home? There could be a good many reasons for doing so.</p>
<ul>
<li>The person has purchased another property and the old one seems no longer of any use.<br />
</il>
<li>The kids have all grown up and the house is no longer good for the extended family.<br />
</il>
<li>The kids have grown and moved and the home suddenly appears big and unwieldy.<br />
</il>
<li>Relocation to a different state or a city.</li>
</ul>
<p>Whatever could be the reasons, if you decide to sell home, you may have to take certain steps so that the transaction proves fruitful. As a first step towards reaching your goal, try and hire the best sales agent you could afford and ensure that the person is fully acquainted with the area where your home is located as that will prove beneficial.</p>
<p>The next step would be to set the price since too high a price will yield a negative result and a vague price structure would distract a genuine buyer. Here the agent may come to help as he has access to databases and records displaying homes bought and sold in the adjacent locality. However, don’t be rigid and keep the price range flexible to realize your goal quickly. A good approach would be to ask yourself the price you would have paid yourself had you been the buyer as also the perimeter of reduction acceptable. Also draw a limit, in the same vein, as to the period of time you could possibly wait for the anticipated price to mature.</p>
<p>If you have been relocated by your employer, you can even seek assistance from him in selling your home. Many employers do provide free service of an appraiser who could determine the value of your home. And also with support, you can solicit the help of a realtor who could market the property for you.</p>
<p>Now when you are selling your home you need to keep a few things in mind. These things will help you in a quick sale and will also go a long way in fetching you a good price.</p>
<ul>
<li>De-personalize the property by removing all personal effects so that the prospective purchaser can view the property in his own perspective.<br />
</il>
<li>Remove children’s toys and knick-knacks from the rooms.<br />
</il>
<li>Mow the lawn.<br />
</il>
<li>Paint the front entrance door and change the door handles. Do not let the buyer get a bad impression of your house even before the person has entered it.</li>
</ul>
<p>If needed carry out some minor repair work. But keep in mind that it might not be a good idea to invest too much money because the returns might not be that great. And also, never paint the walls before selling because the buyer will always have his own personal preferences and may not like your taste.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img style="float: left; margin-right: 30px; border: #ABCDEF 5px double" src="/downloads/2008/09/house6.png" alt="" /> If are keen on selling your house and that too, at a profit, you have to consider several aspects. Before you go about it, think in terms of what you would have wanted in a house if you were the buyer. In other words, put yourself in the buyer’s shoes and work up the small details. It might be a good idea to find out the maximum potential value of your house. Looking at local property papers and a few visits to estate agents may help in this matter. Also, remember that the best time to sell house is the spring and autumn since the market slows down during late summer and over the Christmas and the New Year. After all, there is no point in trying to sell house when the market is not responsive. So do the following to get the best price.</p>
<ul>
<li>Trim the lawn, clear the pathway and paint the entrance door because buyers will have already formed an impression before they actually step into the house.<br />
</il>
<li>Since water can cause major problems in unwanted places, check and replace lead flashings and broken tiles, if any. Also take a look at the roof and the guttering and do the needful. But there is no need to be extravagant.<br />
</il>
<li>Look at the kitchen from the buyer’s point of view. If it is a fitted kitchen that looks much used, just paint the doors, replace the doorknobs and the faucets.<br />
</il>
<li>Reorganize the rooms. Paint the walls to create a sense of light and space and remove all personal effects, children’s toys and knick-knacks so that the buyer can foresee how the room will suit his fancy.<br />
</il>
<li>Ask friends or family to look after the pets since a buyer may feel unwelcome with snarling dogs surrounding him during inspection.<br />
</il>
<li>Do a listing of all the liens, mortgage dues or other encumbrances that are linked to your property and discuss it across the table with the prospective buyer. This creates a sense of integrity that the buyer will immediately appreciate.<br />
</il>
<li>And lastly avoid cooking smelly meals during or prior to an inspection.</li>
</ul>
<p>How do you sell house? You may either take the help of a real estate agent or go on your own and put an advertisement in the local newspaper. Or you can also leverage the reach of the Internet. Drop a word with your office colleagues, friends or write to relations, scattered all over the country. Who knows, a relative or his acquaintances living in Alabama may be interested in your house in Cleveland, OH. You never know what might come up from your casual enquiries.</p>
<p>And here’s some advice that will do you a world of good. Try not to sell house in a frenzy. For you never know whether the next inspector could have offered you 20% more or not. But that does not mean you keep waiting thinking that the next person is going to pay you more.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img style="float: left; margin-right: 30px; border: #ABCDEF 5px double" src="/downloads/2008/09/spokeo.png" alt="Satisfy Your Addiction with People Search" /> If you are a heavy Internet user like me, and you need a daily, no hourly fix of news, then Spokeo is your new best friend. Spokeo is the perfect tool to keep track of all your friends&#8217; profiles and even find new profiles you&#8217;ve never seen before!</p>
<p>The core of Spokeo is its people search technology. This is what allows Spokeo to <a href="http://www.spokeo.com">find people</a> and their profiles across every major network on the Web.</p>
<p><strong>Want to<br />
<href="<a href="http://blog.spokeo.com/?page_id=128">Find people</a>&#8220;>find people</a>&#8217;s MySpace profiles?</strong><br />
No problem, Spokeo not only retrieves MySpace profiles, but also MySpace photos, videos, blogs, and music playlists?</p>
<p><strong>What about LinkedIn resume updates?</strong><br />
Spokeo has you covered there as well. It searches every major network out there, so how can it miss LinkedIn?</p>
<p><strong>What if there&#8217;s information about friends on lesser known websites?</strong><br />
Spokeo also grabs information from these websites and classifies them in its own unique category as &#8216;web references.&#8217;</p>
<p>This people search technology is broad, targeting over 40 major networks, and it is deep, retrieving rich content in original format. Spokeo knows that you don&#8217;t just want a profile picture, but you want all the rich multimedia. It transplants the entire profile from the original network into Spokeo.</p>
<p>Now, here is where the fun begins. The first time you use Spokeo, you will be amazed by how comprehensively it has searched people. If you are a prolific Internet junkie like me and have an email address book of over 1000 contacts, then be prepared to read through the search results for more than half an hour. </p>
<p>I literally found hundreds of my friends&#8217; flickr accounts, and I sat there looking at their photo albums one by one. Keeping up with my close friends was a good feeling, and thumbing through all the photos of my more distant friends showed me a thing or two about their personalities.</p>
<p>So I got my fix of news that day, but it simply wasn&#8217;t enough. I needed all the updates as soon as they came in. Good thing Spokeo also tracks these people for you on a hourly basis. As soon as any of your friends or colleagues so much as twitches on a social network, Spokeo picks it up and displays it right in front of you. Voila, here&#8217;s your fire hose of feeds, RSS, news, updates, pokes, and wall doodles!</p>
<p>Some people call this persistent <a href="http://blog.spokeo.com/?page_id=2">people search</a>, but to me it&#8217;s a fix. Now let me get back to reading about some of my friends&#8217; latest exploits. Happy searching.</p>

<h4>Funerals USA offers funeral planning advice for a family’s executor in making many critical decisions. Features comparative pricing models for interment services in the United States.</h4>
<p>&#8230;disposal of the dead falls rather into a class with fashions, than with either customs or folkways on the one hand, or institutions on the other &#8230; social practices of disposing of the dead are of a kind with fashions of dress, luxury and etiquette.</p>
<p>One of the interesting things about burial practices is that they provide many a clue to the customs and society of the living. The very word &#8220;antiquarian&#8221; conjures up the picture of a mild-eyed historian groping about amidst old tombstones, copying down epitaphs with their folksy inscriptions and irregular spelling, extrapolating from these a picture of the quaint people and homey ways of yore. There is unconscious wit: the widow&#8217;s epitaph to her husband, &#8220;Rest in peace - until we meet again.&#8221;</p>
<p>We are left to wonder if this is some ritual act of contemplation, a heartfelt belief that when we die we meet those that have gone before us, or comforting words left for those that remain.</p>
<p>For purposes of comparison they might recall the words of Andrew Marvell, a poet from an earlier culture, who thus addressed his coy mistress:</p>
<p>The grave&#8217;s a fine and private place, but none, I think, do there embrace.</p>
<p>They might rashly conclude that twentieth-century America was a nation of abjectly imitative conformists, devoted to machine-made gadgetry and mass-produced art of a debased quality; that its dominant theology was a weird mixture of primitive superstitions, superficial attitudes towards death, overlaid with a distinct tendency towards necrophilism&#8230;</p>
<p>Where did our burial practices come from? There is little scholarship on the subject. Thousands of books have been written describing, cataloguing, theorizing about the funeral procedures of ancient and modern peoples from Aztecs to Zulus; but about contemporary American burial practices almost nothing has been written.</p>
<p>The official historians of American undertaking describe the origin of our burial practices as follows:</p>
<p>&#8220;As a result of a long slow development, with its roots deep in the history of Western civilization, it is the common American mind today that the dead merit professional funeral services from a lay occupational group. These services include embalming, the preparation of the body for final viewing, a waiting period between death and disposition, the use for everyone of a casket that is attractive and protects the remains, a dignified and ceremonious service with consideration for the feelings of the bereaved, and an expression of the individual and group beliefs. . . .&#8221; Elsewhere they assert:</p>
<p>&#8220;The roots of American funeral behavior extend back in a direct line several thousand years to early Judaeo-Christian beliefs as to the nature of God, man and the hereafter &#8230; Despite the antiquity of these roots their importance as regards the treatment of the dead in the world that commonly calls itself Christian today cannot be overemphasized.&#8221;</p>
<p>In two misinformation-packed paragraphs, we are assured not only that American funerals are based on hallowed custom and tradition, but that they conform to long-held religious doctrine. There is more than a hint of warning in these words for the would-be funeral reformer; he who would be bold enough to make light of or tamper with the fundamental beliefs and ancient traditions of a society in so sensitive an area as behavior towards its dead, had better think twice.</p>
<p>A &#8220;long, slow development with its roots deep in the history of Western civilization,&#8221; or a short, fast sprint with its roots deep in money-making? A brief look backward would seem to establish that there is no resemblance between the funeral practices of today and those of even fifty to one hundred years ago, and that there is nothing in the &#8220;history of Western civilization&#8221; to support the thesis of continuity and gradual development of funeral customs. On the contrary, the salient features of the contemporary American funeral (beautification of the corpse, metal casket and vault, banks of store-bought flowers, ubiquitous offices of the &#8220;funeral director&#8221;) are all of very recent vintage in this country, and each has been methodically designed and tailored to extract maximum profit for the trade.<br />

<td valign="top"><img style="border: 5px double rgb(171, 205, 239); float: left; margin-right: 30px;" src="http://www.handyexpressions.co.uk/toolkit/helogo.jpg" alt="Baby Sign Language" height="200" width="200">Handy Expressions offers a wealth of information about the fascinating subject of baby sign language, from an experienced (UK) baby sign language teacher.</p>
<p>Including research into the subject of signing for infants, a history of baby sign language, a comprehensive list of FAQ&#8217;s and featuring a full set of galleries demonstrating how to sign the most commonly used words, the website is the ideal resource for parents interested in learning and teaching baby sign language.</p>
<p>Baby sign language is a way of introducing communication to infants before they can talk, enabling them to express their feelings, wishes and needs. It was initially discovered by child development experts who found that infants brought up in a signing environment (usually because deafness in the family) were communicating with their parents by signing back long before they were able to talk. This in turn meant that infants brought up in signing environments relied far less on cries or screams to convey their message and communicated their needs with sign language, resulting in far less frustration and much happier babies.</p>
<p><img style="border: 5px double rgb(171, 205, 239); float: left; margin-right: 30px;" src="http://www.handyexpressions.co.uk/toolkit/galleries/babies-signing/book.jpg" alt="baby signing &quot;book&quot;"> By using simple signs for everyday vocabulary (eg: &#8216;more&#8217;, &#8216;food&#8217;, &#8216;milk&#8217; etc), hearing babies are also able to enjoy earlier communication with parents, reducing childhood frustration and behavioural problems. It also reduces the frustration for parents by helping them to<br />
understand what baby wants.</p>
<p>Baby signing bridges a very wide gap, giving your child the ability to communicate their wishes and needs with visual clues (signs) before they can physically form spoken words, which also gives them a structure on which to build the development of their vocabulary.</p>
<p>Sign language also helps babies make sense of the words that they hear, as words are introduced along with the signs. This means that - as the signing vocabulary develops - so too does the verbal vocabulary. Signs are gradually dropped by the child once the even easier form of verbal communication (speech) is mastered - providing them (and their parents) with the perfect communication bridge.</p>
<p><img style="border: 5px double rgb(171, 205, 239); float: left; margin-right: 30px;" src="http://www.handyexpressions.co.uk/toolkit/galleries/outdoor-signs/gardensign.jpg" alt="&quot;Garden&quot; Sign"> There are numerous benefits seen in signing infants. Recent research<br />
suggests that properly introduced signing does NOT hamper speech development - and in a lot of cases will even encourage early speech. Another recent find maintains that many babies who sign not only have a higher vocabulary and greater communication skills, but will also develop a greater IQ than that of their peers. Many signing children will start school with the advantage of a greater ability to communicate with their friends and understand their teachers better.</p>
<p>One of life&#8217;s vital skills is communication, so cultivating the ability to communicate effectively from an early age should lead to greater interaction and people skills in adult life. Signing with your child provides the perfect opportunity to get them used to interacting with others and builds a stronger bond between parents and infants, plus its great fun!</td>

Easter is always popular with children and adults alike, and you’ll find we have a huge selection. Kids Easter baskets are our specialty, with colorful creations packed with toys, jelly beans, chocolate, and plush bunnies. Grandparents especially love the convenience of sending special Easter gifts to their grandchildren from afar.
</p>
<p>
Late Spring is time to honor parents with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Moms are sure to appreciate our huge variety of holiday basket offerings, with everything from gourmet food to pampering products, in festive pastels and flower adorned containers. <h4>Gourmet <a title="Cookie Bouquets" href="http://www.gourmet-cookie-bouquets.com">Cookie Bouquets</a></h4>
<p>At Gourmet Cookie Bouquets, we are famous for our decorated gourmet cookies. With hundreds of designs to choose from, there is something sure to please your recipient. Each bouquet is made from jumbo iced butter crème cookies, each hand decorated and shipped direct for maximum freshness. We can even personalize the cookie bouquet with your message, making it a true one of kind present. All our bouquets are arranged with the cookies on sticks, so we can create a truly memorable presentation. With 5 sizes to choose from, you can select the one that best fits your budget and gift recipient for a great cookie delivery every time.</p>
<p>Some of our most popular gourmet cookie designs include those for get well, birthdays, and new babies. Anyone feeling a little under the weather is sure to feel better when they see a bright bouquet of smiley faces declaring &#8220;Get Well Soon,&#8221; or a sports themed bouquet that says &#8220;You&#8217;ll Bounce Back.&#8221;<br />
For birthdays, we offer everything from cute dinosaurs and trains for kids, to cakes and balloons for adults, to tombstones and black and gray cookies for those milestone &#8220;over the hill&#8221; birthday celebrations. New babies are always a reason to celebrate, and mom and dad will need the energy our festive baby bouquets provide. With pink and blue rattles, pacifiers, stars and more designs, they are sure to appreciate your gift. We haven&#8217;t forgotten all of life&#8217;s other events worth celebrating either, so you&#8217;ll find designs for anniversaries, weddings, housewarming, and to say thank you, or &#8220;just because.&#8221;</p>
<p>Valentine&#8217;s Day is our most popular holiday of the year, and no wonder, as our gorgeous valentine&#8217;s day cookie bouquets are sure to make your sweetie smile. They feature heart shapes, cupid, and even racy red boxer shorts, all decked our in reds and pinks. Don&#8217;t forget Christmas either, as we have designs featuring snowmen, reindeer, presents, trees, and of course Santa Claus. Springtime is welcomed at Easter with smiling bunnies and colorful egg shapes, or cookie flowers in a burst of pastels. We can even scare up a ghoulishly memorable Halloween bouquet with black witches, white ghosts, green goblins and more.</p>
<p>For those that prefer the taste of classic recipes, we offer cookie tins in all sizes with memorable flavors like chocolate peanut butter cup, oatmeal spice, and more. We also carry a full selection of giant fortune cookies.
